OWC Charity Day
Give a little… gain a lot.
Offshore Wind Consultant’s (OWC) London team took a day out of the office advising the world’s wind farm developers last week, to help make a difference to a small charity in North West London.
“With our offshore wind market currently so busy, it is easy for one month to merge into the other and nearly a whole year will go past. It is important for us to say ‘stop’ and pause a little, and we decided to use this pause to do something different, together. We wanted to contribute something directly, and together as a team.”

The Camden Society helps adults with a learning disability develop confidence and skills through horticulture at its charity garden centre.
The OWC team volunteered to improve the charities green living environmental wildlife roof, decorate the building and construct wooden shelving units to display plants grown from seed by the people the charity support.
“It was a really fun day doing something together that was completely different and knowing that you’re helping others” said Johan Coronado.
“I enjoyed meeting some of the people that charity helps,” said Ali Bonnon.“It felt very rewarding to be able to give something back and make a small difference.”
Michael, the charity manage was delighted with the efforts of the team. “I can’t thank you enough for what you achieved in a day. It would have taken us a month to do everything! It’s great to have our green roof back to life to help attract wildlife onto the site. Please come back again.”
Katherine Phillips was pleased with the team’s first experience of employee volunteering.“It was a fantastic day and something that we’ll definitely look to do again to help another local charity in 2020.”
The OWC team ended the day with a well-deserved trip to the pub to warm up and refuel on spent energy!
That’s CSR in action!
