Meet the Team: Jessica Warwick | OWC London
At OWC, our teams are constantly expanding, into more locations, in expertise and in sectors of influence, so that our people can truly drive safety and sustainability across our energy and oceans. Our people are at the heart of what we do, and we invite you to get to know our team members so you can meet the energy behind change.
For this week’s meet the team, we’re delighted to introduce Jessica Warwick in her new role as Tendering Manager. In this position Jessica is set to apply her in-depth expertise and commercial acumen to further enhance our tendering capabilities across the wider organisation – allowing her to take on a more strategic viewpoint to drive efficiency, streamline the bidding process, and explore collaborative opportunities across the wider group.
Position: Tendering Manager
Office: OWC London
Hobbies: Themed spinning class and exploring London’s hidden gems (especially the ‘foodie’ scene!) Also, with the reunion coming up, anything Oasis is currently a firm favourite!
What does your day-to-day look like at OWC?
Bidding is fast-paced, deadline-driven, and filled with global collaboration and the thrill of submitting a proposal just in time!
My week involves juggling multiple proposals, coordinating across business lines and regions. Transitioning to Tendering Manager, I’ll shift focus from active bidding to a strategic role, concentrating on resource development, bid reporting, and supporting larger-scale bids.
Can you tell us something exciting you’re working on right now?
In my new role, I’m currently looking forward to taking a more proactive approach in my role by focusing on developing best-practice systems to improve bidding efficiencies across OWC and the wider Group. I’m excited to lead the AI Bidding Focus Group, which explores using AI to streamline and enhance the bidding process. By integrating AI, we aim to save time and improve proposal quality. Collaborating with ABL Group IT, I look forward to transforming how we bid smarter!
What are some challenges associated with the tendering process?
The biggest challenge? Navigating diverse procurement practices worldwide. Each country has its unique bidding requirements, constantly pushing me to learn and adapt. While initially daunting, it’s rewarding to expand my global expertise.
How was OWC/ABL Group supported your career progression and how do you hope to continue developing your career with us?
I joined OWC in 2022 with 2.5 years of energy sector experience. Rapid company growth saw me promoted to Senior Bid Administrator with supervisory responsibilities. Now, I’ll focus on strategy, reporting, and developing bid resources. I’m grateful to OWC for the supportive environment that has fuelled my growth and look forward to expanding my leadership and strategic skills.
What do you enjoy most about working as part of OWC London?
On my second day, I was thrown into a lively darts social, which turned into lifelong friendships! The teams are like-minded – hardworking, but we love having fun too. We’ve done everything from mini-golf to paint-and-sip nights and even a trip to Disneyland Paris! I’m lucky to be part of a company that values both hard work and camaraderie.
