What does your day-to-day look like at OWC?

Every day at OWC looks different for me and that’s what keeps it exciting. Since I work on two different teams (Market Studies and Cost Engineering), I have several different types of projects that I work on, and I am always learning and working on something new.

I also get the chance to work with and meet so many people within the company. One of my favourite parts of my day is when I have team meetings and I get to catch up with my co-workers all over the world.

What inspired you to join the industry?

After taking a college course that briefly touched on energy, my interest was immediately sparked, and I took every course I could about energy. I knew that I wanted to work in green energy because I felt like it was going to be such an important part of the future. I wanted to be a part of an industry that would positively impact the lives of people across the planet.

Can you tell us about something exciting you are working on right now?

Since I am from the United States, any project I get to work on in the US is very exciting to me because I am very passionate about the energy transition in this country.

Having the chance to work on projects for upcoming offshore wind farms that are in my backyard is super motivating and knowing that I am helping increase renewable energy and decrease harm to the environment that I live in is extremely rewarding.

What does the future look like in energy and oceans in the United States?

The United States and the Americas in general have a bright future in energy and oceans. While many plans and projects are just getting started, there are so many goals for the future and the governments of these countries are setting up the industry for success! For example, the US government has set a goal to develop 30 GW of offshore wind energy by 2030 and there have already been so many lease auctions held and many more to come just in the next year.

What do you enjoy most about working as part of the ABL Group in New York?

The ABL Group team in the US is always up for a friendly competition.

Whether its darts, foosball, or table tennis, we will always be competing against each other while cheering each other on at the same time!
