OWC supports Dutch authorities for wind farm tenders
Renewable energy consultancy OWC has been subcontracted by DHI to offer specialist bid advisory services, to the Dutch government entity Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO). These services include assessing the wind potential for the IJmuiden Ver Offshore Wind Farm Zone in the Dutch North Sea.
The objective of OWC’s scope of work was to support DHI and the Dutch authorities in defining the wind resource potential at identified sites to come under an upcoming competitive tender. The tender for two of the three designated wind farm sites, Alpha and Beta wind farms, will open on 29 February 2024 and close on 28 March 2024. Tendering for the Gamma wind farm site will be in 2025.
The sites are estimated to supply approximately 4 GW of power to the Dutch electricity grid, with an additional 2 GW from the Gamma wind farm site.
OWC’s office in Germany, with support from consultants based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, conducted the work for the Dutch government entity RVO.
