David Wotherspoon

David has over 35 years of experience as an engineering professional, with broad experience across the utilities and energy sectors, both onshore and offshore. His background includes international experience across business and project development, design and construction, due diligence assessments, operations and decommissioning. His sector experience encompasses oil and gas, wave and tidal energy, subsea interconnectors and offshore wind.

David now leads OWC’s strategic growth objectives in offshore renewables ensuring that the company’s service lines are aligned with market needs globally and developing new OWC iservice areas. He also supports the OWC teams in newly established markets and delivers and supports projects on a global basis. This includes activities such as leading our work to support the Philippines first offshore wind auction and acting at Co Portfolio Director on behalf of a client developing a series of offshore windfarms in Sweden and Finland. David’s previous experience includes leading the first true offshore windfarm in Vietnam to be granted a survey license by the Vietnamese Prime Minister’s office, Project Director for Principal Contractor role for the construction of the Teesside Offshore wind farm in the UK and the planning of the West Coast Interconnector in the UK.
