Meet the Team: Suzie Wilcox | OWC Brighton
At OWC, our teams are constantly expanding into more locations, in expertise, and in sectors of influence. Our people are at the heart of what we do, and we invite you to get to know our team members so you can meet the energy behind change.
This week, we talk with Suzie Wilcox, a Senior Consultant, with OWC in Brighton!
Position: Senior Consultant
Office: OWC Brighton
Favourite Movie: Alien
Hobbies Outside of Work: Rock climbing and folk music!
Can you give us a glimpse into your day-to-day life at OWC?
I work full-time from the Brighton office, which I often walk to via the beach in the morning.
My role is 99% desk-based (which can be a challenge at times as someone who likes being on their feet) but the work for the day is always different: There is always some client communication to carry out, answering emails or having video calls to discuss ongoing projects; I spend some of my time carrying out quality assurance on analysis being performed by other people in the team, training and supporting them on their projects; and then I will normally have some projects ongoing myself, which might involve using software to model energy output from a proposed wind farm or digging into data from an operational wind farm to interrogate performance.

What inspired you to join your profession?
I am strongly motivated by the global need for accelerating the energy transition, and with a technical background (having studied engineering and physics) wind farm performance and analytics was a good fit. The varied and fast-paced nature of working in consultancy also works well for me, I never get bored.
Can you share with us something exciting you are currently working on?

We are setting up a new toolset to validate on-site measurements – a key stage in project development, especially when your resource is as variable and unpredictable as the wind.
This will enable us to provide owner’s engineering services for some very large and exciting ongoing global projects, and the toolset can also be reused for smaller technical advisory assignments in the future.
Looking ahead, what do you think is key to driving sustainability in your region?
Looking ahead, I believe the key to driving sustainability in our industry is for both governments and corporations to not only commit to decarbonisation targets but also to follow through on them consistently. Long-term progress relies on these commitments being more than just statements – they need to translate into real, measurable action across policies, operations, and investment decisions.
Besides work, what do you enjoy most working within the ABL Group?
Besides work, what I enjoy most about being part of the ABL Group is collaborating with like-minded, sustainability-driven people across a diverse and global network.
It’s both inspiring and fun to share ideas, learn from different perspectives, and be part of a community that’s passionate about making a real impact.
