Meet the Team: Rasmus Clark Marker

At OWC, our teams are constantly expanding into more locations, in expertise, and in sectors of influence. Our people are at the heart of what we do, and we invite you to get to know our team members so you can meet the energy behind change.

This week, we visit our new office in Aarhus to speak with Rasmus Clark Marker – a Senior WTG Technical Manager!

Position: Senior WTG Technical Manager

Office: Aarhus, Delta Wind Partner – a part of OWC Denmark

Favourite Movie: My favourite movies would be Lord Of the Rings and the Marvel movies

Hobbies Outside of Work: Not much time for hobbies at the moment as I’m renovating an old house from scratch – that can also be called a hobby right..?

Can you give us a glimpse into your day-to-day life at OWC?

Currently I’m supporting the GreenVolt project, which is a floating wind project in Scotland, acting as WTG Specialist.

I work across multiple packages, but one of them is O&M management, where I have a focus on the main component replacement solutions.

Besides this being my primary work, I also support my DWP colleagues when needed, provide input for proposals, and assist on general technical inquiries.

What inspired you to join your profession?

I have always been drawn by the renewable sector and have been working in wind energy for the last 10 years.

After a long period working for a wind turbine OEM, I joined DWP to start a new adventure. I enjoy exploring new areas of the industry and working primarily with developers now is an interesting next chapter for me!

Can you share with us something exciting you are currently working on?

Floating wind is a rapidly evolving area within the industry, enabling the deployment of wind energy in much deeper waters.

The technology does present challenges, as many established O&M methods cannot be applied directly in this sector. Being part of the initial steps into this new area is particularly appealing – we are developing the solutions as we go.

Looking ahead, what do you think is key to driving sustainability in your region?

The wind energy industry is still relatively young with the offshore sector primarily built upon the legacy of the marine industry. So, despite working on deploying renewable energy, the current methods are based on older, less-sustainable solutions.

But we are already seeing the trends – hybrid generators are now being used, alternative fuels are being introduced, and companies are focused on their sustainable agenda. I believe that the key is that we need to keep being ambitious, keep thinking outside the box, and building a better tomorrow.

Besides work, what do you enjoy most working within the ABL Group?

To me, ABL Group is an agile group of companies with high ambitions, a strong organisation, and an exciting journey ahead.

I enjoy being part of a smaller team day-to-day, but looking at the larger and more long-term picture, we come together as a wider group to work collaboratively and offer an integrated set of solutions.

We focus on having strong and competent people, delivering excellent performance, and always maintaining a sustainable agenda – but also have a lot of fun along the way!
