Can you give us a glimpse into your day-to-day life at OWC?

My day usually involves supporting GIS tasks for both offshore and onshore projects. I work a lot with spatial data maps using GIS software.

I enjoy how each project gives me a chance to learn something new, especially when collaborating with colleagues from different countries.

What inspired you to join your profession?

I grew up in southern Vietnam, where the coastline and wind conditions are considered ideal for developing renewable energy projects, especially wind power. I was always curious about how developers identify suitable sites. Study Geodesy and Mapping Engineering at university gave me the tools to transform data into meaningful visual insights. This eventually opened the door for me to work in the renewable energy sector – and has allowed me to explore and answer the questions I was once so curious about.

Can you share with us something exciting you are currently working on?

I’m currently supporting GIS analysis for offshore projects in Taiwan, Philippines, and Singapore.

Each project brings new data and unique challenges. I also have the opportunity to work with colleagues from a variety of backgrounds, which allows me to continuously learn by providing tailored GIS support to each department based on their specific needs. Through this, I gain insights into different national cultures and develop a deeper understanding of the services OWC provides to clients.

Looking ahead, what do you think is key to driving sustainability in Vietnam?

Vietnam has great potential for renewable energy, as a tropical monsoon country with a coastline of over 3,260 km and year-round sea winds, it is especially well-suited for wind project. I believe that with improved regulations, greater data transparency, and stronger international collaboration, Vietnam can meet its green targets.

Besides work, what do you enjoy most working within the ABL Group?

Ever since I joined OWC as an intern in 2024 and now as a full-time employee, I’ve always felt valued and supported by all colleagues – something I truly appreciate.

I enjoy the international and open culture, where people are kind, approachable, and always willing to help. I especially enjoy the weekly after-work badminton games with my Vietnamese colleagues and day-out trip, they bring a great sense of connection and balance to the workday!
