Meet the Team: Agnieszka Moribe | OWC Poland

At OWC, our teams are constantly expanding into more locations, in expertise, and in sectors of influence. Our people are at the heart of what we do, and we invite you to get to know our team members so you can meet the energy behind change.

This week, we speak to Agnieszka Moribe, Product Lead for Renewables Concept Design.

Position: Product Lead for Renewables Concept Design

Office: Remote in Poland with OWC Japan

Favourite Book: Based on the number of volumes I’ve read, I’d have to say Kitty Kotty by Polish author Anita Głowińska—at least one book every night, as requested by a very discerning toddler. It may not be high literature, but it’s certainly a bestseller in our household!

Hobbies Outside of Work: I enjoy the outdoors and sports – these days, that mostly means touring one playground after another in the local park.

Can you give us a glimpse into your day-to-day life at OWC?

My focus is primarily on fixed-bottom offshore wind foundation design at early project stages.

Day-to-day, I contribute to numerous technical due diligence (TDD) projects, review design documentation, support clients with tender documents, and lead internal knowledge management and development initiatives..

What inspired you to join your profession?

Offshore wind wasn’t part of my original plan. I initially wanted to work in industries with a heavy environmental footprint, hoping to drive change from within. But life had other ideas – and I found myself starting my career in offshore wind development.

From the beginning, I was drawn to the complexity of the field. Offshore wind combines expertise from mechanical, civil, electrical, and environmental engineering, among others. Success depends on strong communication and a solid grasp of multiple disciplines. I love solving complex problems, and this field constantly challenges me. I’m still learning something new every day.

Can you share with us something exciting you are currently working on?

We’ve recently launched an ambitious internal initiative: building our technical capability to support fixed-bottom foundation design at more advanced project stages.

As we assess our internal resources and refine our methods, I’m learning a lot. This knowledge will strengthen both my personal expertise and the value we bring to our projects.

Looking ahead, what do you think is key to driving sustainability in your region?

In a world obsessed with growth – more products, more services, more everything – we’re not only exhausting the planet but also ourselves. To truly move toward sustainability, we need to slow down and reflect on what really matters.

While commercial companies are often constrained by market forces, individuals can lead the way -through our choices, values, and the way we define a meaningful life. I believe that a good company is the one which supports this by prioritising truth over profit, ethics over convenience, and fostering honest conversations about our future.

I hope to see our industry – and others – evolve into spaces where we can build networks that support values alongside successful projects.

Besides work, what do you enjoy most working within the ABL Group?

One thing I truly value is ABL Group’s flexibility and support for diverse working styles and personal circumstances. In my case, I needed to relocate from Japan to Europe for two years. Thanks to the company’s support, I was able to make the move smoothly and continue contributing to offshore wind foundation projects.

During that time, I had the unique opportunity to work closely with our design-focused team in France. That experience broadened my perspective and deepened my expertise. Now, back in Japan, I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned and continue supporting our projects from here.
