OWC shortlisted in two categories at the 2024 Wind Investment Awards

OWC has been confirmed as shortlisted in two categories in Tamarindo’s fifth edition of its Wind Investment Awards programme, celebrating best practice in the global wind sector.

OWC, The Renewable Energy Consultants, has been shortlisted for the Technology Innovation award and Technical Advisory of the Year award, at the fifth edition of the Wind Investment Awards. Both categories demonstrate OWC’s commitment to driving the accelerated development of grid-scale net-zero technology, through leading technical advisory solutions and expertise across new technologies.

Over the past two years, OWC has expanded its offering in both categories.

In terms of technical advisory, OWC consolidated its offering under the leadership of seasoned renewable energy professional, Christian Apeah. The company’s offering has been further bolstered by the recent service expansion to environment and consenting under the leadership of industry professional Lara Lawrie, combined with the continued growth of OWC’s multi-disciplined expertise in technical studies. Technical studies cover expertise in wind and site, metocean and measurement advisory, electrical engineering, geoscience, financial modelling and more.

In terms of Innovation technology, OWC has been recognised for the development of a cutting-edge digital solution to reduce risk in floating offshore wind from integration to operations – HIPER. The digital sensor box was developed by OWC’s Denmark-based entity, Delta Wind Partners. It enables the independent verification, live monitoring and data storage of Heave, Inclination, Position, Elevation and Roll of floating wind infrastructure.

“We are delighted to be recognised for our technology innovation and technical advisory offering. In the last few years we have supported well over 100GW of offshore wind M&A as Technical Due Diligence consultant and as a Lenders Technical Advisor, and increasing on onshore renewables too. Furthermore, with the recent acquisition of wind operational consultants Delta Wind Partners in Denmark, we continue to put focus on the development of cutting-edge innovative solutions to support the wind energy market – the latest being HIPER, a digital solution to help de-risk floating wind. We are really proud to compete in these categories and thank you to Tamarindo for recognising our work,” comments John MacAskill, Group Managing Director for Renewables, ABL Group.

The annual Wind Investment Awards celebrates best practice in the global onshore and offshore wind industry, incorporating innovation, financing, project development and asset management.

Hosted by global renewable energy and clean technology community, Tamarindo, the awards unite prominent decision-makers to enable opportunities to network and forge long-term business connections.

Adam Barber, Chief Executive Officer, Tamarindo said: “Once again it is excellent to see such enthusiasm and hard work being championed and celebrated at this, the fifth edition of the Wind Investment Awards. The deal-making, teamwork and financial acumen demonstrated by those working at the forefront of wind energy development and investments truly inspiring, particularly given what has remained a challenging economic environment.
