Office: Nantes, OWC France

Describe Your Work in Three Words: Projects, Technical, Teamwork

Can you tell us a little about the Nantes office and your day-to-day responsibilities?

The Nantes office is full of good colleagues with whom a warm and friendly atmosphere has been built. There is a pleasant and jovial enviroment that is at the same time responsible and hard working.

My role in the floating team is to contribute with my solar and electrical technical experience, train colleagues who are interested in learning, collaborate in structuring the team and accompany clients in the development of their projects.

What are the key challenges and opportunities for floating solar in the region – how do our teams help clients navigate this sector?

We work in a region that is strongly promoting renewable energies and seeking energy independence. Floating solar is a new technology that presents unique technical, environmental, and social challenges. At OWC France, we have been accompanying and growing with the market from its inception – meaning we have unparalleled experience and knowledge from which to draw from when tackling new projects.

Why do you enjoy working within the solar sector?

As it’s a rapidly growing sector, there are always different challenges that characterise and accompany each individual project.

This proves quite exciting, as it pushes us to be innovative and seek technical solutions to mitigate any roadblocks.

If you had the power to implement one renewable policy across your region – what would you choose and why?

It would promote a policy of raising awareness of responsible energy consumption. Just because energy comes from renewable sources does not mean that we can continue consuming energy the way we do, we must know the fair use and know what resources it consumes.

What has been your favourite team bonding or social event during you time with OWC?

Our monthly team meetings are a great opportunity to come together, share updates, and collaborate on ideas in a relaxed and engaging environment.

Beyond work, our afterwork catch-ups have been a highlight, especially when the weather is nice—we often meet for meals at local restaurants in Nantes, enjoying good food and great company!
