Erica Lee, Consultant, OWC Taiwan

What do you do at OWC?

I’m a Consultant at OWC based in Taiwan. I provide ranges of consultancy services to clients on the offshore wind farm development, including project/package management, site selection study, preliminary metocean data analysis, layout planning, port assessment, bid management, consent management, etc. I also support the business development of floating wind in Taiwan, assisting on coordinating with developers, local supply chains and authorities.

What inspired you to go into the field you are in?

I first discovered my interest in renewable energy was in high school, when I was working on research about fuel cells. Since then, I have realised how important energy transition is for our future. This inspired me to explore the renewable energy sector during college and resulting in my interest in joining the offshore wind industry.

What do you enjoy about working at OWC?

I enjoy working with experts from such a broad range of different specialties in the wind industry, from all across the globe. Every day I learn something new from my colleagues. I also enjoy working on challenging projects. It grows my passion and ambition to solve the problem.

What is the most exciting aspect of the energy transition for you?

The most exciting thing about the energy transition is that I get to be a part of it. There are many pioneering projects bringing innovations in technology to our industry. It is all very exciting to witness, and IU am very eager to contribute in any way I can!

What do you enjoy in your spare time?

I enjoy spending time together with my family and friends. I also like to travel around and explore new things and cultures.
