Hannah Abend

Hannah Abend is the Director of Growth at OWC Ltd, focusing on New Services, New Technologies, Innovation, and New Geographies. She is a passionate renewable energy executive with over 18 years’ experience. She has a BSc in Physics, a MSc in Geophysics, and 9 years of executive and organisation coaching experience.

Before joining OWC Ltd, Hannah held several roles at Wood Thilsted, as the Director of Growth, the COO and Associate Director, where she transformed business growth and expansion. Prior to that she had multiple roles at Iberdrola, RES and Verdant Power.

Her technical experience includes working on key renewable projects including the RITE Tidal Energy Project in the USA, LID Wind Farm in the UK, Lincs Offshore Wind Farm in the UK, Race Bank Offshore Wind Farm in the UK, Celtic Array Offshore Wind Farm in the UK, Changfang Xidao Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan, Zhong Neng Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan, East Anglia One OWF in the UK, and Jeonnam I Offshore Wind Farm in South Korea.

Hannah is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and in 2022 she received an award for being one of the Top 50 Women in Engineering – Inventors and Innovators by the Women in Engineering Society for her innovation software on optimising transport and installation options for offshore wind farms.
