OWC congratulates ScottishPower Renewables and the East Anglia ONE team

OWC’s involvement with ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia ONE project dates back to 2013, and the global consultant is still involved today as the 714 MW offshore wind farm completes the final commissioning with all her 102 Siemens Gamesa 7 MW turbines now operational.

OWC started by developing the ground model and applied its innovative SI LIVE 1.0 tool to the offshore site investigation (SI) campaign, which was linked to real-time ground modelling. This resulted in significant savings (greater than £4.0m) for the project. OWC has since delivered work and completed numerous other roles on the project, and are still adding value today.

Our work and roles have included the aforementioned geotechnical and structural engineering, cable route design, OFTO package management, construction readiness assessment, senior O&M engineer, senior foundation project manager, installation manager, technical support engineer, onshore site administrators, electrical site manager, Belfast foundation fabrication and QC team, ONSS supply and installation project manager, document management, environmental site advisor and structural inspections among other roles.

“Congratulations to our friends at ScottishPower Renewables and Iberdrola for their incredible achievement.” Said Will Cleverly, OWC managing director. “East Anglia ONE was my first project at OWC, and one I look back on with great fondness. We followed it from Great Yarmouth to Dubai, to China, to the titanic yards of Harland and Woolf. So proud to see it completed and to have been a small part of the success.”

OWC has also worked on Iberdrola’s Wikinger, East Anglia THREE, and East Anglia HUB offshore wind projects and also their US Kittyhawk offshore wind project.
